Tasked with maintaining, updating, and providing quality control of the location data for Louisiana's Natural Resources and associated infrastructure within the enterprise database known as the Strategic Online Natural Resources Information System (SONRIS), I also acted as the point of contact for the public, private industry, and within the Office of Conservation for mapping and GIS.
Technical Services Manager
Serving in this role, I was tasked with a variety of oversights that involved asset tracking and management of resources for projects across the United States as well as developing and administering mandated safety training for personnel. Additional tasks included inspecting hazardous materials on DOT transport and maintaining compliance and records for DOT drivers. A major accomplishment while serving in this position was the development of a custom ERP and project management platform that facilitated more efficient equipment and personnel usage while decreasing downtime related to mobilization and demobilization of assets.
While working on projects across North America in this role, I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of projects worth millions in revenue, covering hundreds of miles2 with several hundred employees and contractors for Fortune 100 companies. From data management and distribution to explosives handling, helicopter operations, holding town halls in municipalities, and a vast array of others, the tasks carried out on these projects varied greatly and always presented challenges that helped grow all aspects of my project management abilities.
The development and administration of company policies/procedures and business development were the primary functions of this role. Significant impacts and contributions while serving in this position were the implementation of a fleet management system (which increased employee safety while lowering insurance costs), expanding services to a new market while increasing profitability in our core service sector, streamlining vendor approval processes, and migrating the organization to a new GIS that better aligned with industry standards.
GIS & Survey Project Manager
Overseeing employees and contractors on topographic survey projects involved processing survey and mapping data with a rigorous QC as well as creating and distributing both hard copy and digital maps for use by hundreds of field personnel. Other responsibilities of this position included managing the project budget, employee supervision, project payroll reporting, logistics and planning for office and field consumables, procurement of project resources, oversight of equipment maintenance and other administrative tasks.

United States Marine Corps
Thirteen years in the Marine Corps Reserves with a tour of duty in Iraq, serving under commands at three different duty stations, and missions and specialized training assignments across the globe gave me the opportunity to serve alongside America's greatest men and women. During that time, I learned valuable leadership skills and how to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles through perseverance and teamwork. I continue using those lessons learned to meet challenges encountered in daily life.
