Thirteen years in the Marine Corps Reserves with a tour of duty in Iraq, serving under commands at three different duty stations, and missions and specialized training assignments across the globe gave me the opportunity to serve alongside America's greatest men and women. During that time, I learned valuable leadership skills and how to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles through perseverance and teamwork.
